Time of day notes
The first time we filmed we decided to meet everyone at 11, by the time we had finished makeup for the zombies it was 1:30 which was too late as by the time we filmed the first bit to our opening sequence it became dark and we didn't have the chance to film anything else. The next time we film we plan to meet up a lot earlier so we have time before it gets dark.

Then next time we started filing we met at six so we would be able to get all the preparations, such as make up, complete. We met at this time so that we would be able to film in the lighting that we desired. We wanted the start of our sequence to be a average day and as Alice's zombie transition progressed we wanted it to get darker. However we were aware that achieving this would be difficult as we had learned from our previous attempt at filming that once the sun started going down it would get very dark very quickly. We therefore were prepared to film the first half in a similar lighting and then add a darker effect whilst editing. We had to do this because if we had attempted to film after it had naturally gotten darker we wouldn't of had the time, as a lot of the shot we did from multiple angles,so that we could then choose the most effective while editing, and also had to re-film them if the actors made a mistake or could have performed better. We were able to film the last sequence, after Alice has transformed, in the darker lighting we desired as we knew that we would be able to film that in the short time frame that we had.

Inspiration for lighting
Still from zombieland(2009) we like this lighting as it is dark and but you can still see all the details in costume and make up. We plan on shooting the last part of our sequence, when Alice has transformed, in a lighting similar to this.
Still from World War Z(2013) we like this use of high key lighting as it is unusual to see such bright lighting in a horror film and adds an unexpected twist.
Still from the television series the Walking Dead(2010-ongoing series) we like this lighting as it is still bright enough to be day and clearly see everything but is also dull and gloomy, which matches the tone. We aim on adding an effect that somewhat resembles the still pictured above to our first scene where he characters are running through the forest.

Still from 28 days later(2002) which combined both the natural light,or absence of, of the dark with the unnatural light from what we can assume is torches/lamps.
Still from Shaun Of The Dead(2004) which also uses a brighter lighting which means the audience can therefore fully appreciate all the details the have encorporated. For example if you filmed in the dark you wouldn't really be fully capable of truly distinguishing between human and zombie. We aim on using a lighting similar to this at the beginning of our sequence, when the characters are running through the forest.
This is another still form the Walking Dead(2010-ongoing series) which we also like because it adds a dark element to the film.

In order to achieve the lighting we desire we plan on filming the first part, when the character are running through the forest, at about 11. The second part, where the characters are looking for the house, at about 2 and the third part, where Alice has turned, and about five. As it will already be quite dark by then.
