Note On lighting and where we decided to film
We decided to film at plot court in a woodland area as we thought that it would look effective for a zombie chase, by having the trees and dead leaves in the shot we think gives it a more creep and spooky feel. We have also made the decision to film at Emma's house in her back garden as we wanted the survivors to seem as if they are looking for food, we have chosen this place to film also as you would think that a home is a place of safety.
We decided not to go with typical horror conventions by filming at night, as we wanted to make it clear who was a zombie and who was a survivor.
We have chose to film in the day as we like the effect it gives in 'The Walking Dead' which is the inspiration behind our opening sequence. we have made this choice as we want our shots to defiantly be visible, instead of using low key lighting.

We chose to incorporate two of the most popular locations for zombie films, setting the first half of our sequence in the woods and the second was filmed down a typical road with houses. The use of filming in the woods has also been used by The walking dead and the use of filming in a typical British neighbourhood has been used by Shaun of the dead.

The above screenshot reveal the similarities between our media product and the others. Another reason we chose these locations is the fact that they are something that the majority of our target audience will be completely accustomed to and they will probably live somewhere or close to somewhere which is similar to where we filmed, We did this because a crucial element in our opening sequence was to make everything seem as realistic as we possibly could, because this means that the watcher couldn't comfort themselves with the thought that it would never happen to them because we tried to create a situation that would seem very familiar and even possible for our audience. We also found out through the audience interviews that we conducted that these were two popular locations for a zombie film.
